17 Sep SRC to host competition among Syracuse area tech companies
SRC Inc. plans to host the region’s first competition among Central New York technology companies to raise money for local charities that support STEM education.
The FALLanthropy Games will take place 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at SRC’s headquarters at 7502 Round Pond Road in Cicero.
Among those taking part in the friendly competition are employees of Saab Defense and Security, CXtec, INFICON, SOS, and King & King Architects.
Cash prizes will be donated to charities and nonprofits that include Advance Student Resource Systems, the MOST, Baltimore Woods, P-Tech, and Partners for Education and Business. The grand prize is $3,000.
The companies also plan to raise money with a dunk tank featuring their executives. The event is not open to the public.
SRC, a rapidly-growing research and development firm, has been promoting education in science, technology, engineering and math as it seeks to hire 300 new employees this year.
